My VERY first cake!

Waybuloo :)

This has to be one of my most successful christening cakes so far. Quite a challenge, but it was worth it in the end! Would you believe.. the clouds were the most difficult part of the entire cake! Two tier 10" round/8" round vanilla sponge cake with jam and buttercream.

Areebah!

This weeks cupcakes, mexican style! Had lots of fun making these.. The finishing touch to any Mexican party!

Grand Piano

This is the first cake that i got to experiment with my carving skills. I was a little apprehensive about getting the right shape and proportion, but i think i did it pretty well :) I used a super think board and iced the top to give the impression of a traditional grand piano. This was originally a 10" square vanilla sponge, that i carved away to create the piano shape.

Novelty cupcakes

Here are some orders from last week.. Novelty cupcakes seem to be more in demand recently! The batch of 6 were for a retirement and the batch of 12 were for a 50th birthday, both vanilla flavour with vanilla frosting :)

Royal wedding celebrations!

I know these last few posts are a tad back dated.. But I Couldn't help post some of these older cakes! Here was my first attempt of bride and groom figures 'wills and katie' :) These are a little more characteristic than any figures i have done before.. I particularly enjoyed creating the wedding dress :) I love how it looks like Kate's holding up her dress! This cake took pride of place on the centre of the table during all the royal wedding celebrations! - 8" round vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream.

Cupcakes to match :)

Artist

This cake allowed me to get a little more creative and try new things! The order was for an 80th cake, and i was told to do something related to painting/art. The wood grain effect was something i had never tried before, which i think worked really well. I also got a little more creative by hand writing 'DAD' with the red icing, to give the effect of the paint brush painting this instead - 10" square vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream.

Pampered Princess

This cake is one of my favourites! A friend was celebrating her birthday at a spa, and wanted a cake to take along with her. She left the design with myself, and here is what i came up with! She absolutely loved the cake (thank god) 10" by 5" vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream.

Happy Mothers Day x

Heres a cake i found whilst flicking through some of my pictures. A lovely mothers day gift! An 8" vanilla sponge surrounded by 6 chocolate cupcakes.

And here is an order of Mothers Day cupcakes :)

VW Beetle

Here is my first car cake! I've got to say.. I impressed myself :) After some painstaking carving.. patiently waiting to be iced!

The final product!

Finger food :)

Heres one of my favourite cakes :) Sponge cake surrounded by chocolate fingers.. yum! I was asked to do a 'girly' version of the fingers cake i usually do.. So i decided to use vanilla sponge with jam, buttercream and white chocolate fingers.. add a touch of pink to the butter cream and ribbon and its completely transformed for those girly girls out there :)

'T' cake

Here is my first attempt of a T-shirt cake :) Instead of carving the cake i used an actual T-shirt tin, which surprisingly worked well first attempt! - Vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream.

Cara 'Potter' Street

One of my friends graduated a few weeks ago and had a little party to celebrate. She's a little obsessed with Harry Potter to say the least.. She also thinks she's Hermione (yes, she's a little crazy!) Her mum ordered these Harry Potter themed cupcakes as a little surprise. I absolutely LOVED making these cakes! Mainly because i knew how much she would appreciate them, but i also enjoyed doing all the magical details :) - 10 vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and 10 chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream.

All set up on her table ready for the guests to see! :)

Experimental :)

I recently treated myself to some new tools :) So last weekend i decided to spend the afternoon decorating to test them out! Here are some little experimental cupcakes. My favourite is the cupcake stencil. I've never used one of these before but have always been intrigued by them. I can honestly say they are not as scary as they look... and really easy to use!

Handyman

Today i got to use these little icing tools! I bought these a while ago, and i've never found the right time to use them. So when i was asked to do some 'manly' cupcakes i found just the thing! 6 vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting :)

Pick'n'Mix :)

One of my favourite kinds of cupcake :) I feel like a little kid again when i make these! Batch of 12 vanilla 'pick'n'mix' cupcakes.

Also got to use my new little pegs for the first time! Cute :)
